case study
Dobrze Wyspani

Dobrze Wyspani is a medical equipment retailer and distributor of CPAP machines used to treat sleep apnea. Beyond sales, the company provides end-to-end remote care for patients using its equipment, allowing specialists to analyze sleep data, respond to anomalies, and adjust settings without the need for a clinic visit.
The new e-commerce store was intended to help the brand build recognition in the Polish market and support its goal of becoming a leading CPAP retailer. We built a new version of the WordPress-based (Gutenberg) using WooCommerce. The result combines a simple, intuitive shopping experience with features suited to the specific requirements of reimbursed medical equipment.

The Challenge
Dobrze Wyspani approached us with two clear goals. First, the need to communicate their offering more clearly and, second, to increase sales of medical equipment – primarily CPAP machines and masks.
The existing website no longer met users’ needs or reflected the direction in which the company was developing. Its overly formal, clinical feel did not fit the company’s vision, while the unclear structure and missing information made it harder to present its services.
The company primarily serves a specific group of users: people living with sleep apnea.
Sleep problems can be associated with, among other things, impaired vision and slower cognitive processing, including difficulties with concentration and processing information. This made digital accessibility an especially important part of the project.
The brand also offers products eligible for reimbursement by Poland’s National Health Fund (NFZ), alongside remote care and 0% installment plans that set it apart from competitors. These aspects needed to be clearly presented on the website, while the complex reimbursement rules had to be translated into the straightforward purchasing process. The system also needed to handle prescription verification and carts containing both reimbursed and non-reimbursed products.
The project involved several challenges at once: creating a modern, intuitive website that met users’ needs while also designing a simple and convenient purchasing process for a complex range of medical products, including those reimbursed by NFZ.
The Results
The project resulted in a modern e-commerce store that combines medical equipment sales with detailed information about the services offered by Dobrze Wyspani. Built with WordPress (Gutenberg) and WooCommerce, the new platform also includes custom functionality for reimbursed products – from prescription verification to calculating reimbursement and handling payments when different types of products are combined in one cart. Throughout the project, we’ve delivered:
- a modern and intuitive online store,
- clearer information about NFZ reimbursement,
- better visibility of the company’s end-to-end patient care, from choosing the right equipment to remote support during treatment,
- improved digital accessibility and user experience adapted to the needs of the target audience,
- an e-commerce infrastructure ready for further development, supporting online sales and reaching new customers in the Polish market,
- dedicated functionality for reimbursed products, including prescription verification and different reimbursement levels.
The Process
Discovery
We kicked off the project by consulting the Dobrze Wyspani team to gain a clear understanding of their business needs, goals and expectations for the new platform. During our talks, we also got to know the specifics of their products and services.
A key part of this stage was a meeting at the company’s headquarters and stationary store, which serves as a brand showcase. Visiting the store gave us a better understanding of the company’s direction and helped us define how the new e-commerce platform should work.
Design
We worked closely with the Dobrze Wyspani team throughout the design process. During weekly status meetings, we presented the process, discussed proposed solutions and incorporated feedback from the client.
Based on the gathered information, we designed a new website that moves away from the stark, medical look of the previous site. The new design combines a more approachable visual style with the functionality required for selling medical equipment. We focused on content clarity and a well-structured information architecture.

When building the platform, we followed WCAG 2.2 AA standards to comply with the European Accessibility Act. The store was tailored to the needs of people living with sleep apnea – for whom high digital accessibility is especially important.
Web Development
Once the designs were approved, we moved on to implementation using WordPress (Gutenberg) and WooCommerce.
We developed custom functionality that allows the store to:
- enter and verify a prescription code when purchasing a reimbursed product,
- apply different reimbursement levels based on factors such as the patient’s age and product category,
- calculate reimbursement correctly when reimbursed and non-reimbursed products are combined in one cart,
- offer instalment payments only for products covered by reimbursement.

Maintenance
Throughout the project, we regularly shared working demos and new functionality with the client. This gave the Dobrze Wyspani team an active role in the development process and a clear view of how the platform was taking shape.
Our partnership did not end with the launch. Ambiscale continues to provide ongoing maintenance, optimisation and development of the e-commerce platform, supporting Dobrze Wyspani in executing their next business goals.
